
PAS 2025 Best Student Paper Award
We are pleased to announce that the winner of
Population Association of Singapore’s 2025 Best Student Paper Award
is
Ms Jinhan Liu
for their outstanding paper titled
“Whom to Marry Matters: Educational Assortative Mating and Mental Health Over the Life Course and Across Birth Cohorts in China”
Jinhan’s paper applies a life course perspective to examine the impact of educational assortative mating on mental health trajectories, with a focus on birth cohort variations. Drawing on nationally representative longitudinal data from the China Family Panel Study (CFPS), the paper offers a strong theoretical foundation and effectively contextualizes the relationship between educational assortative mating and health outcomes within the Chinese context. .
