PAS 2026 Best Undergraduate Student Paper Award
We are pleased to announce that the winner of this year’s
Best Undergraduate Student Paper Award
is
Ms Jessie Lim
for their outstanding paper titled
“Living Near (or Without) Children: Proximity, Marital Status, and Gender Differences in Older Adults’ Mental Health”
The paper offers a theoretically and empirically coherent examination of how childlessness and proximity to children shape older adults’ mental health. Directly engaging low-fertility themes such as rising childlessness and changing intergenerational living arrangements, the study uses nationally representative HRS data and well-structured, theoretically aligned models to test gender and marital status differences.
Honorable Mention
We would also like to congratulate
Ms Yi Lim
for their contribution with
“Gendered Effects of Children’s Marital Status on Parental Emotional Well-Being”
Congratulations and thank you to all the participants on their remarkable efforts and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours!
